HUNTINGTON — Clouds will mix with sunshine Monday, Feb. 8, before snow arrives overnight through Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Only light snow accumulations are expected for the area.
Monday’s forecast calls for a high near 35 degrees. Meteorologist Tom Mazza referred to the day as “boring,” when asked about the forecast Sunday.
Snow moves in after 5 a.m. Tuesday as the next weather system arrives. The low falls to 28 degrees.
Snow continues through noon. Thereafter, rain mixes in as the temperature approaches 41 degrees.
Snow returns again Tuesday night as the low falls to 20 degrees. Wind gusts could reach 26 miles per hour.
Snow showers are again likely Wednesday before 3 p.m. Wind gusts could reach 39 miles per hour. Snow ends by 1 a.m. Wednesday night. The low falls to 17.
Thursday and Friday calls for mostly sunny skies. High temperatures warm to the low to mid 30s. Thursday night’s low falls to 18 degrees.
The Huntington area is running ahead when it comes to average snowfall, he said. As of Sunday, the area had already seen about 25 inches of snow this season, as measured at Tri-State Airport. That’s Huntington’s average for the entire season, Mazza said.
