Marshall University Marathon now official

HUNTINGTON — Chris Paulett and Holly Baker Wong were officially named as winners of the Marshall University Marathon.

A total of 342 runners posted finishing times for the Marathon and 401 finished the Half-Marathon.

Paulett, 25, won Sunday’s 26.2-mile men’s race with a time of 2 hours, 38 minutes, 18 seconds. Runner-up John Van Steenbergh, 42, had a time of 2:48.05 and Feliciano Vega, 33, was third with a time of 2:53.04.

John Sharp, 23 was fourth (2:54.33) and Cory Fulmer, 26, placed fifth (2:54.42).

Baker Wong, 29, won the women’[s race with a time of 3:12.48.

Women’s runnerup Gretchen Stipe, 45, posted a time of 3:22. Amanda Maxwell, 23, was third (3:23.19), Heather McDaniel, 25, placed fourth (3:23.19) and Lenna Kirby 45, was fifth (3:28).

David McCollam, 29, led the Half-Marathon 13.1-mile men’s race with a time of 1:10.55. David Breshnahan, 23, was second (1:12.42) and Travis Epling, 23, placed third (1:15.54).  Fourth-place finisher Matthew Bright, 22 had a time of 1:16.37 while Derek Bolyard, 26, finished fifth (1:17.22).

Amy Eddy, 42, won the women’s Half-Marathon with a time of 1:34.33, leading runner-up Monica Arnold, 43, in 1:37.48.

Deb Wilch, 32 was third (1:39.06), Misty Roberts, 31, placed fourth (1:41.15) and Elizabeth Wilson, 23, was fifth (1:41.17).
