New shop opens downtown

Aug. 02, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- There's a new shop open in downtown Huntington.

Bow Love opened Thursday at 905 4th Ave. in the space formerly occupied by Richard's Hallmark, and it's a fashion-conscious girl's paradise.

Owned by Misty Olin, the boutique sells hair bows and other accessories for infants, girls and women, as well as some infants and girls clothing. Brand names sold there include Mud Pie, Persnickety and others.

Olin started the business by making bows from her home in Teays Valley and selling them in shops throughout the Tri-State, before opening a location at the Huntington Mall. She closed that spot earlier this year to move and expand her business.

In its new downtown location, Bow Love also will provide party services for small and large parties, including everything from photography to catering assistance to helping with crafts, games and party favors.

Olin's mission is to help girls grow to be both confident and kind, she said. Bow Love will offer free story hour events at 10 a.m. on the second Saturday of every month, and at 4 p.m. on the third Monday of every month. Reservations are requested by calling 304-437-7155.
