Pottery Place celebrates anniversary

Sep. 26, 2013 @ 07:12 AM

The Pottery Place is celebrating its fourth birthday this weekend with a special celebration to thank customers for their support.

To mark four years in business, it will give four items away over four days, beginning Friday, Sept. 27, and ending on Monday, Sept. 30. It also will offer 40 percent off select cupcake items.

“We have had four amazing years so we are celebrating for four days with our wonderful customers,” LayaHutchison, owner of The Pottery Place, said in a news release. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without our loyal painters.” The family-owned business opened its original location in Huntington in September 2009 on 8th Avenue, before relocating to Pullman Square. The Pottery Place now has studios in Huntington, Beckley and Charleston, as well as Ashland, Ky. In all four studios, customers will be able to register to win a Cupcake Canister. Each studio will have one winner per day.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE : State Electric Supply Company will be host to the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce’s September Business After Hours event. The business networking event goes on from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at 2010 2nd Ave. Cost is $20 at the door.

MOSES VOLKSWAGEN:

Moses Volkswagen will host “Family Safety Day” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. The public is invited to visit the dealership, located on U.S. 60 off the 29th Street exit of I-64. The event will focus on child safety, with technicians on hand from the Huntington Police Department, the Ceredo Police Department, and St. Mary’s Medical Center to help parents and guardians ensure that their child safety seats are properly installed in their vehicles.

“Nothing is more important than family, and we have always prided ourselves on treating our customers like family,” explained Barbara Moses Atkins. “We came up with this event as a way to celebrate our 50th anniversary
by giving something back to the community that has supported us for so many years.” The event will feature music, a live radio remote, free food and refreshments, as well as a Madagascar Moon Bounce from M&M Inflatables for the kids.

Family Safety Day is part of Moses Volkswagen’s “50 Days of Savings” event, celebrating 50 years as a Volkswagen dealer. As part of the event, Moses Volkswagen will introduce a new special every day for 50 days. Not all specials will be advertised, so the public is encouraged to stop by often.
