Ashland cleaning up for spring

The Ashland Alliance is encouraging members of the business community to get involved in its U.S. 23 Spring Cleanup. From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 11, volunteers are urged to come out and sweep trash along 50 miles of the Country Music Highway, from South Shore to Catlettsburg.

The Alliance hopes that people of all ages get involved, including young people. PUTNAM GRAND OPENINGS: The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce is joining Sovine Life Coaching & OnSite Digital Radiology Services, LLC at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, for the grand opening celebration of the new businesses.

Sovine Life Coaching Service is dedicated to motivating and teaching skills for a better life, working with individuals and couples on various life, sex and career issues.

OnSite Digital Radiology Services is a new statewide provider of mobile digital radiography (DR) services

Both businesses are located in the 300 building of Prestige Park in Hurricane. The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting and will also feature a wine tasting by a local winery.

FINANCIAL STABILITY PARTNERSHIP: The Financial $tability PartnershipTM of the River Cities is hosting Financial Fitness Fridays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at Huntington's Kitchen.

Financial $tability PartnershipTM of the River Cities and the West Virginia Alliance for Sustainable Families are partnering on a new pilot program funded by the Benedum Foundation to help West Virginia residents build assets and reach financial independence. During Financial Fitness Fridays, participants work with a coach to reach their financial goals.

Through games and activities, participants will learn to budget, save and make the most of their paychecks. Participants will have the opportunity to win movie tickets and other prizes at Financial Fitness Fridays.
