Course on Microsoft Office to start July 9

MICROSOFT OFFICE: Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA will offer an eight-week course in Microsoft Office 2010 beginning Tuesday, July 9. Classes will be conducted from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 1005 Virginia Ave., Huntington. The course will teach computer skills such as word processing, pictures and clip art, copy and paste functions, templates, mail merge, tables and graphs and more. Cost is $100.

SAFE SITTER: Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital's Healthy Community Services will host a Safe Sitter class from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Bellefonte Centre, 1000 Ashland Drive on the hospital's campus. The class takes place in Healthy Community Services' classroom on the fourth floor of Bellefonte Centre. The cost of the class is $30 and includes a Safe Sitter backpack, training manual and lunch.

Safe Sitter prepares young adolescents ages 11 to 16 for the responsibilities of nurturing and protecting children. Safe Sitter teaches teenage babysitters how to handle crises, how to keep their charges secure, and how to nurture and guide a young child. Bellefonte is a registered Safe Sitter teaching site and has been providing the program at the hospital for more than 20 years.

QUICKBOOKS: A certified QuickBooks Training ProAdvisor will teach a course on Quickbooks from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 (Level 1), and Thursday, July 25 (Level 2), at Wingate, 402 2nd Ave. in Charleston.
