OLBH physicians pass board exams
ASHLAND -- Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) announces the following members of its medical staff recently passed their board examinations:
Dr. Melinda Elkins-Smith, is a family practice physician at the OLBH Primary Care Center in Grayson. She earned her doctorate of medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and received her undergraduate degree in biology from Marshall University. Smith received her residency training at Marshall University.
Dr. Jason Ford, is a pediatrician who established his practice at OLBH's Bellefonte Pediatrics in Ashland. Ford is a native of Ironton and a graduate of Ironton High School and Marshall University. He earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed a residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C. Ford is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Peter O. Lyn, is an internal medicine physician at OLBH's Primary Care Center in Grayson and earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies. He completed his internship and residency at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons at Harlem Hospital, New York.
Worker recognized for sales increase
HUNTINGTON -- Brian Lewis was inducted into the Bard Access Presidents Club for achieving a sales increase exceeding three million dollars over his four year career.
Lewis also qualified for the Bard Access Leadership Council and Presidents Club Awards Trip for achieving a sales increase exceeding $1 million for 2007.
Lewis, a hospital territory manager responsible for hospitals located in West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia, is an innovator and market leader in vascular access devices. These devices are used in the process of gaining access to the circulatory and other selected systems for the purpose of delivering chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, drugs or nutrition.
Williams named to Harness Track of America Board
CHESTER, W.Va. -- Rose Mary Williams, corporate director of racing for MTR Gaming Group, Inc., became the first woman to be named to the Harness Track of America's Executive Committee at the group's sixth annual joint meeting with Thoroughbred Racing Associations.
The Harness Track of America is a trade association of 44 major harness tracks in the United States and Canada.
Freeman earns new construction and land specialist designation
HUNTINGTON -- Necia Freeman of Prudential Bunch Co. Realtors, has earned the designation of New Construction and Land specialist in recognition of meeting the professional standards set by Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., a Prudential Financial, Inc. company, for sales professionals who successfully market and transact land and new construction sales.
Freeman has been in the real estate business for five years, and also is the recipient of the Fine Home Specialist Designation.
