RBC Wealth Management names the Miller Investment Group to Chairman's Council

HUNTINGTON -- R. Wayne Miller and David Miller, senior vice president, both financial advisors in RBC Wealth Management's Huntington office, recently were named to RBC Wealth Management's Chairman's Council. The Millers are a part of the Miller Investment Group.

The Chairman's Council award annually recognizes employees for outstanding performance and professional growth, and demonstrating leadership in client service.

Bailey joins Valley Health -- Highlawn

HUNTINGTON -- Valley Health Systems Inc. has announced the addition of family medicine physician James Andrew "Drew" Bailey, DO, to its provider staff at Valley Health - Highlawn beginning Aug. 19.

As a family medicine physician, Bailey is qualified and experienced in treating newborns to the elderly with health conditions that range from well visits to acute illnesses to chronic diseases. He is now accepting patients by appointment. After Aug. 19, walk-in patients will be accepted as well.

Bailey received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg and completed his osteopathicinternship and family practice residency at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland. At Highlawn, he joins pediatrician Dr. Shannon Smith Maxey in practice.

Local firm recognizes financial advisers

Morgan Stanley has announced that Jeffrey Biederman, William "Cam" Brown and John Villers, all senior vice presidents and financial advisers in the company's wealth management office in Huntington, have been named to the firm's Master's Club, a group composed of the firm's top financial advisers.

Financial advisers David Perdue, a senior vice president, and Jeff Sartaine, first vice president in the office, have been named to the firm's Century Club.

The appointments recognize their consistent creativity and excellence in providing a wide range of investment products and wealth management services to clients.

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management club members must meet a number of criteria including performance, conduct and compliance standards, revenue, length of experience and assets under supervision.

Retired professor receives honorary degree

Professor Mildred Battle, a retired educator of Marshall University and Mountwest Community and Technical College, was presented an honorary doctorate of letters degree at the World Forum of Arts, Sciences, and Communications held this summer in Cambridge, Mass.

It was sponsored by IBC (the International Biographical Centre) of Cambridge, England, which is made up of a community of 700,000 men and women from 163 countries.

The director general and the directors of the International Biographical Centre have appointed Battle to the Board of Deputy Directors General, which is broken down into five main regions of the world: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Battle has accepted the appointment to serve on this board as the United States representative and the ambassador of West Virginia.

Kash celebrates 25 years with insurance Systems

ONA -- Brenda Kash was honored last week at Insurance Systems Inc. for her 25-year anniversary with the company.

She started working at Insurance Systems on Aug. 15, 1988, as a personal lines representative, quickly moving into commercial lines as a customer service representative.

After several years in that position, she was promoted to vice president of marketing.

"It has been a pleasure having her as an employee not only because of her hard work but also because of her loyalty and her patience," said Vice President David Robinson. "We have been lucky to have her and look forward to the years to come."
