InfoCision's Huntington call center is having an open house job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13. The teleservices company is looking to hire 50 salary positions to provide calling service for Verizon Wireless and the National Rifle Association, offering full benefits.

InfoCision is located on Hal Greer Boulevard, just off the entrance/exit ramp of Interstate 64. The Akron, Ohio, based business is the second largest privately held teleservice company, providing customer care services, commercial sales and marketing for a variety of Fortune 100 companies, smaller businesses and nonprofit, religious and political organizations. It operates 33 call centers at 13 locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

BENNY'S CHEESESTEAK: With locations based in Huntington and the area of Columbus, Ohio, Benny's Cheesesteak is hosting a little friendly competition for the Marshall-Ohio State game on Thursday, Sept. 2, and donating some of the proceeds from sales that day to charity.

Both the Huntington and Dublin, Ohio, locations will give 20 percent of their proceeds from that day to a charity of choice, and the employees in the city of the team that loses that game will have to wear jerseys of the winning team the following day.

The Huntington store's proceeds will go to the Huntington City Mission, said local owner Marry Harris. Harris is a 1983 Marshall University graduate, and her restaurant is located in Pullman Square.

TECH CRAWL EAST: It would require a road trip, but area business people who want a chance to launch or expand a technology business, or who want to just hear 60-second pitches from other technology businesses on the East Coast, can drive to Baltimore for Tech Crawl East. The event is planned for 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, on the first floor of the new Morgan Stanley building in Fells Point, overlooking Baltimore Harbor. The event is pitched as a great way to reach potential investors and stay tuned into which tech companies are developing new and exciting products.

According to the Tech Crawl website, this year's crawl is the result of the MD Tech Crawl held in 2009, where more than 20 early stage tech companies presented 60-second pitches to close to 200 attendees. Investors, media and members of the technology community reported having enjoyed their chance to learn about all of the companies present in just a few hours.
