Morgantown businessman earns SBA honor
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- A Morgantown businessman who runs an electronic and software engineering company has been named West Virginia's small-business person of the year.
Azimuth Inc. President Craig W. Hartzell will now compete for the title of national small-business person of the year.
The West Virginia office of the U.S. Small Business Administration announced its 2010 winners on Monday.
Jalon "Jay" Petre of Renick was named the 2010 young entrepreneur and Kara Gray of Dallas was named the 2010 women in business champion.
Diane Lewis of Morgantown was selected as the state's minority small-business champion while Hughes & Sons Inc. in Summersville was chosen as the Jeffrey Butland family-owned small business.
All winners will be honored May 13 in Beckley.
