Tahona Grille now open on 10th Street

Jul. 26, 2011 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Tahona Grille is now open at 322 10th St., in the former location of Melini Cucina.

Owned by brothers Ray and Ron Garcia from California, the high-end restaurant is now serving a roll-out menu, but will be serving its full menu of Mexican, Italian and American food by the end of the week, Ray Garcia said on Monday.

So far, "We're getting a lot of good feedback from the people here," Ray Garcia said. "People seem to really like our beer selection. We're focusing on our craft beers. We have almost 50 different beers."

Ray and Ron are nephews to Jose Garcia of Ashland, who owns restaurants throughout this region.

"Apparently, their family has been in the restaurant business for several generations," said John Hankins, landlord of the building.

The brothers have a good location, great food and experience in the business, which should be a pretty good recipe for success, he said. Plus, they live in town and will be right on site working and overseeing the restaurant, which not all owners do, he said.

"If you have good food and service, you can make it anywhere, guaranteed," Hankins said.

Guests can keep up with Tahona Grille's current promotions about happy hour, beer tastings and food pairings on its Facebook page, Ray Garcia said.
