Alpha Natural Resources appoints executive to board
ABINGDON, Va. -- Coal mine operator Alpha Natural Resources has promoted President Kevin Crutchfield to its board of directors.
CEO Michael Quillen called the promotion a natural progression for Crutchfield. The 46-year-old executive started out as executive vice president in 2004 and became president at the start of 2007.
Based in Abingdon, Virginia, Alpha operates more than 60 mines in West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Its stock fell $2.18, or 8.16 percent, to $24.55 today.
