Store specializes in work wear

BARBOURSVILLE -- Raven Rock Workwear is all about the right clothes for hard work.

Now in its second year at the Huntington Mall, Raven Rock Workwear offers coats, shirts, vests, pants, boots, accessories and more from brands such as Carhartt, Rocky and Bulwark. According to store manager Ryan Hudak, these products not only display style, but ensure safety.

"We bring high-end quality workwear products and great customer service which gives us an edge over competitors," Hudak said. "Seeing familiar faces and providing safety to them makes us feel good about what we do and the products we provide."

The store opened in November of 2006 in its Barboursville location. According to CEO of Raven Rock Footwear, Steve Thomas, the Barboursville area was chosen for its strong, heavy industrial base with a significant base of industrial employers.

"In the Huntington area, a Carhartt jacket and a pair of boots isn't just something you wear to work, it's a way of life," Thomas said. "We came for the industrial base and employee demographic that was down there. There's a very strong demand for what we have to offer."

Raven Rock sells to industrial businesses and employers in bulk and offers discounts to them through a rebate program. Hudak says it's a vital part of the store's operations.

The store's hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The store can be reached at (304) 733-1170.
