POLLOCK'S: Pollock's Jewelers in downtown Ashland is conducting a toy drive to help children at Safe Harbor and Harbor Hill have a merry Christmas.
This marks the fourth year for the toy drive, said Clayton Hill, Pollock's owner, and new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages and sexes are being sought.
"After we had partnered with Safe Harbor during Lobster Fest several years ago, I was driving down the road one day and heard about somewhere being a toy drive drop-off location," he said. "I immediately thought we could do that, too."
Since the drive began, Hill estimates more than 100 toys per year have been collected. Pollock's Jewelers is located at 915 Winchester Ave. Safe Harbor is one of the largest domestic violence shelters and outreach facilities in Kentucky. In addition to toys for children, the following items are needed for gift bags for the facility's adult residents: washcloths, hand and bath towels, combs, brushes, disposable razors, bar soap and other personal-care items.
For more information, contact Safe Harbor at (606) 329-9304.
