HUNTINGTON-- A groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. today at KineticPark in Huntington will mark the beginning of construction of a Towneplace Suites, an extended-stay hotel.

Bill Toney, executive director of the Huntington Municipal Development Authority, said construction could begin in the next few weeks. The lower level of the planned business and technology park along W.Va. 10 is reserved for commercial businesses that will support professional and technological companies on the upper level.

Townplace Suites, part of Marriott's extended-stay hotel chain, offers rooms that are 25 percent larger than most hotel rooms, fully-equipped kitchens and free high-speed Internet service, according to Marriott's Web site.
