Jenkins Fenstermaker welcomes new attorney
HUNTINGTON -- Rachel Perdue Turner, a native of Huntington, is the recent attorney to join Jenkins Fenstermaker, PLLC.
Turner graduated summa cum laude from Washington & Lee University in 2001, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting. As an undergraduate, Turner was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma and Beta Gamma Sigma national honoraries. In 2004, she obtained her law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude. While there, Turner won such honors as the Roy L. Steinheimer, Jr. Commercial Law Award.
Turner is admitted to the West Virginia and New York State Bars. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern Districts of West Virginia and New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, West Virginia State Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. Turner's practice will focus primarily on general litigation. She has been practicing securities litigation in the New York City metropolitan area and recently returned to West Virginia, with her husband, to join the team of Jenkins Fenstermaker.
RCBI expands Machinist Technology training staff
HUNTINGTON -- John W. Grimm, a veteran of more than 40 years in manufacturing, has accepted an appointment with the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (RCBI) as a CNC machinist and instructor in the Machinist Technology Program.
Director and CEO Charlotte Weber said in a press release that Grimm will be based at RCBI's Rocket Center Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, located near Keyser in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. RCBI also maintains advanced technology centers in Bridgeport, South Charleston and Huntington.
New Machinist Technology Program classes begin Aug. 25 at Huntington, Bridgeport and Rocket Center.
Grimm and his wife, Caroline, are relocating to West Virginia from Indianapolis, Ind. He has been serving as technical writer/instructor for Educational Systems Workshop, Inc. at Crown Point, Ind.
He is the father of two daughters, Tanya Carson of Indianapolis and Bernadette Pejic of Cleveland. His free time interests include golf and woodworking.
The First State Bank announces new hires
BARBOURSVILLE -- The First State Bank announces the hiring of three new employees, Buddy Shadd, Donna McCallister and Jody Shy.
Shadd was hired as the Senior Credit Analyst and will assist Commercial Loan Officers with business lending decisions. McCallister is The First State Bank's Default Manager and will work within the bank's Mortgage Department, but will assist with all lending branches of the bank.
Shy is the new Customer Service Representative and will be located at the bank's main Barboursville location on Central Avenue. Shy is responsible to assisting customers with new accounts and other customer service solutions.

Nurse manager at Riverside Methodist Hospital
HUNTINGTON -- Courtney Blain-Green is the nurse manager on 7-N Medical Telemetry at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
A 1999 graduate of Spring Valley High School, Blain-Green received her bachelor's in nursing from Marshall University in 2003.
She is working on her master's in nursing administration at Capital University in Columbus.
Blain-Green and her husband, Anthony, reside in Pickerington, Ohio.
Two gastoroenterologists join Cabell Huntington Hospital and Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine
HUNTINGTON -- The Medical and Dental Staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University welcome two new gastroenterologists.
Joe El Khoury, MD, and Vikram Tarugu, MD, are accepting new patients.
Khoury is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an assistant professor at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Lebanese University Faculty of Medical Sciences in Lebanon. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of Saint Raphael at the Yale University School of Medicine and completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Florida School of Medicine. Khoury has specific interests in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease, liver diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases and in performing colorectal cancer screenings.
Tarugu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an assistant professor at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at SVMC Institute of Medical Sciences in India. Tarugu completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Mississippi where he also was an assistant professor. Tarugu specializes in the treatment of pancreatobiliary diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases.
