Cheung joins Holzer Clinic orthopedic team
GALLIPOLIS -- Felix H. Cheung, M.D., is now seeing patients at The Holzer Clinic Regional Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Cheung comes from the medical staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics. Cheung is fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal oncology and specializes in orthopedic oncology.
He evaluates and manages both adults and children with benign and malignant bone tumors and soft tissue masses, metastatic disease to bone, and sarcomas. Cheung specializes in tumor resection, complex reconstructions and limb sparing surgeries.
Cheung earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. He completed his musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass., and his orthopedic residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown.

Our Lady of Bellefonte adds three doctors
Three doctors have joined the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital medical staff.
Alain S. Asher, M.D., practices thoracic surgery. Asher is a medical school graduate of Universite De Paris VII, Paris, France. He completed a research fellowship in surgical intensive care at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, and two surgery residencies at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, N.Y. Henry E. Childers IV, M.D., also practices thoracic surgery. Childers earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed a surgery internship and a surgery residency at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He completed a fellowship and a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Childers' office is located at 1735 27th St., Waller Building Suite 207. Juan Carlos MacHannaford, M.D., practices cardiothoracic surgery. MacHannaford is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency and an internship in Chicago at the University of Illinois's Metropolitan Group Hospitals. He completed fellowships at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Hayes named RCBI's Employee of the Month
HUNTINGTON -- Dr. Robert B. Hayes has been selected as Employee of the Month for November at the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI).
Hayes, who is curriculum consultant for RCBI's training programs, is a former president of Marshall University (1974-83). In a Marshall career spanning more than 40 years, he also served in roles ranging from classroom teacher to interim president of Marshall Community & Technical College and former dean of the College of Education to dean of the College of Business.
His book, "$7,000 in the Bank... The History of the Marshall University School of Medicine," was published in 2006. He has been designated Marshall President Emeritus.
"We're truly fortunate that Dr. Hayes doesn't believe in retirement," RCBI Director and CEO Charlotte Weber said in a release. "His work with RCBI has brought greater organization and academic rigor to our wide range of technical training programs. And the teaching manual he developed for us has been of enormous value to our instructors across the state."
His commitment and insight are further enhancing the strong efforts of RCBI to bring academic opportunities to those seeking lifelong skills training, she said.
A native of Clarksburg, W.Va., and the father of three, Hayes earned degrees from Asbury College and the University of Kansas following service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He and his wife, Katy, reside at the Woodlands retirement community in Huntington.
Morgan joins St. Mary's Medical Center
HUNTINGTON -- St. Mary's Medical Center has hired improvement coach James T. Morgan.
Morgan focuses on process improvement techniques to help St. Mary's provide higher quality care in the most efficient way.
He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with more than 12 years' experience managing projects, people and operations. Six Sigma is a disciplined approach to business management that focuses on creating and delivering near-perfect products and services. As a black belt, Morgan works full time on program strategy and deployment, leading projects and training and mentoring others in the Six Sigma methodology.
Morgan has worked in a global capacity as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt for Amazon.com. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Marshall University and was a member of Sigma Tau Delta (English honors), and Eta Sigma Phi (classic honors). Morgan is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration from West Virginia University and is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.
