Hayflich & Steinberg Accountant presented workshop

HUNTINGTON -- The partners of Hayflich & Steinberg, CPAs, PLLC, announce that Michael Hager, CPA presented a workshop June 21 on Data Mining to students of an Executive MBA class at Marshall's South Charleston Campus. Topics included the origins of data mining, its uses, a comparison of various off-the-shelf data mining software and a demonstration of the software that Hayflich & Steinberg.

Grand opening of Superior Styling Salon

Designing Diva launches 'Design Online' Web site

ASHLAND -- Designing Diva celebrates one year of business and has launched a new service on its Web site: Design Online.

Tri-State girls who can not visit the Ashland Town Center, can now design online and have clothing made and shipped to them. Designers will also get a 'ticket' to stop by and model their design on the runway, next time they are in the mall. The site also features a Greek Diva section geared toward sorority girls.

Christian counselor receives board certification

SOUTH CHARLESTON -- The Rev. Andrew Counts, MA, licensed professional counselor, has received the voluntary credential of Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. The certification is conferred by the International Board of Christian Counselors and signifies that the conferee adheres to the highest standards of ethical excellence in clinical practice.

Counts has served as the program coordinator of Thomas Memorial Hospital's SouthWay Christian Therapy Services for 17 years. He completed a bachelors' degree in psychology from Marshall University in 1979, and the master's of arts in counseling psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1985. Counts is also the founding rector of All Saints Anglican Church in Huntington, and the co-founder of Solife, a Kanawha Valley area singles ministry.
