CSX leader to speak at chamber dinner
The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 122nd Annual Dinner Tuesday, April 30, at Pullman Plaza Hotel in Huntington.
The keynote speaker for the event is Michael J. Ward, chairman, president and CEO of CSX Transportation since 2003. He's a 34-year veteran of the company who was stationed in Huntington from 1995 to 96. His railroad career has included key executive positions in nearly all aspects of the company's business, including sales and marketing, operations and finance.
A reception precedes the dinner, beginning at 5 p.m. April 30, and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by CSX. Contact the Chamber at 304-525-5131 to make reservations.
THE RED CABOOSE: The Red Caboose Regional Artisan Center will present "Love Is An Art That Comes From The Heart" from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7. The gift shop is located inside the Visitors Center at Heritage Station.
Local artists will be displaying their creations during the event. Jewelry makers will include: Mary Shank, Amy Litteral, J.B. Cremeans, Robbie Ray, Angie Hall, Libby Verner, Leona Mackey and Susan Morton. Additional items such as bags, pins and scarves will be featured by artists Ann Grimes, Nancy Crockett, Marion Crowe, Lynn Welch, Grace Gooding, Heidi Wineland and Sherri Nichol.
Wine, Valentine's Day cookies and chocolate covered strawberries will be provided by River & Rail Bakery and Bottle & Wedge. Drawings for The Red Caboose door prizes will take place every hour.
ADT HOME HEALTH: V. Ann Newman of Ashland has joined ADT Home Health as a home health security specialist.
