Mountwest Inland Waterways to offer deckhand training
DECKHAND TRAINING: Mountwest Community and Technical College will offer a Deckhand Basic Training Course Monday-Sunday, Feb. 18-24. The course, presented through Mountwest's Inland Waterways Academy, can equip students with the skills and certification needed to join a fast-growing industry on the river.

GRANT WRITING: An intensive three-day grant proposal workshop is planned for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 27-March 1, at West Virginia State University.
It's geared for those who want to strengthen their grant writing skills, or beginners who want to learn to effectively write proposals in times of keen competition and limited resources. Information will also be provided on new regulations and approaches to grant writing, be it for the researcher in the sciences and social sciences, education and nonprofit professionals.
