Barboursville banker elected to national Bancard board
BARBOURSVILLE -- ICBA Bancard, the payments services subsidiary of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), announces the election of Sam Vallandingham, bank director, vice president and chief information officer of The First State Bank, Barboursville, to its board of directors.
Vallandingham has participated in a Federal Reserve Fraud Roundtable and is a member of the ICBA Federal Services working group. He is the vice chairman of ICBA's Payment & Technology Committee and serves as a member of ICBA's Membership/Marketing Committee.
Vallandingham holds a professional master of banking degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and a bachelor of arts in finance and international finance from Florida State University.
CEO elected president of behavioral health care group
HUNTINGTON -- Mike Grady, chief executive officer of the Autism Services Center in Huntington, has been elected president of the West Virginia Behavioral Healthcare Providers Association.
This will be the second time Grady will be president of the association, having held that post from 1999 to 2000. The new term will begin in July 2009. He will be president-elect in the interim.
The association members are behavioral health care provider organizations serving recipients with developmental disabilities, mental health and substance abuse disorders in each of West Virginia's 55 counties.
Grady has been employed by the Autism Services Center in a variety of positions since 1984. He has been the CEO since November 2007.
Autism Services Center was founded in 1979 to provide services to individuals with autism and all other developmental disabilities. They currently serve 275 clients and have nearly 400 employees. ASC's main office is in the Keith-Albee building.
Legal assistant attains national certification
HUNTINGTON -- Judith Browning, paralegal with the law firm of Jenkins Fenstermaker, PLLC, was awarded the Certified Legal Assistant designation by NALA, National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc., May 2008.
In June, Browning was awarded the prestigious Advanced Certified Paralegal designation in the area of Social Security Disability. She is now authorized to use the "ACP" designation. NALA is the leading professional association for paralegals in the U.S., with more than 6,000 individual members.
