Improvements planned at Waterfront Place Hotel
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The Waterfront Place Hotel will invest more than $30 million to help build an adjacent event center and upgrade the hotel.
The Morgantown Event Center is under construction and scheduled to open in the spring of 2010, featuring more 30,000 square feet of meeting, convention and entertainment space, according to a news release.
"Anticipation for the completion of the Morgantown Event Center is growing throughout the region," said Dan Watts, general manager of the hotel. "Our Sales team has already confirmed events for the facility through August, 2010."
Upgrades at the hotel include 42" plasma HDTVs, ergonomic desks, new window treatments and new carpet.
Moody's upgrades outlook for Ashland
NEW YORK -- Chemical maker Ashland Inc. is poised to generate positive free cash flow and maintain strong liquidity in 2010, a ratings analyst said as he upgraded the company's outlook and affirmed its debt ratings.
"This follows almost a year of relatively strong financial performance and improving credit metrics since the acquisition of Hercules Inc.," said Moody's Investors Service analyst Steven Wood.
