GALLIPOLIS, Ohio — Ohio Valley Banc Corp., with headquarters in Gallipolis, reported consolidated net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31 of $1.6 million, an increase of 17.9 percent from the fourth quarter of 2011.

For the year ended Dec. 31, net income totaled $7.1 million, a 20.9 percent increase from net income of $5.8 million during the previous year.

“Our fourth quarter capped off a remarkable year that saw earnings reach a level only surpassed once in the company’s 140-year history,” said Thomas E. Wiseman, president and CEO, in a news release. “We are extremely proud of the effort put forth by our employees in the face of continued regulatory and economic challenges.”

Ohio Valley Bank, established in 1872, currently operates 15 offices throughout Ohio and West Virginia.

Delta magazine to feature West Virginia
This July, Delta Sky magazine will spotlight West Virginia in a special section which will be on board Delta Air Lines’ 13,000 daily flights, reaching more than five million readers worldwide.

The timing is ideal, said Keith Burdette, West Virginia Department of Commerce cabinet secretary.
“July is the month the state will be hosting the 2013 National Scout Jamboree at the new Summit Bechtel,” he said in a press release.

“This magazine will be a terrific marketing opportunity for our state’s businesses and destinations.”
The West Virginia feature will include interviews with key leaders and business profiles of existing and emerging growth industries in an effort to encourage business executives and travelers to take note of the state’s advantages. It also will profile the ideal balance between life and work that many find in West Virginia’s small metros and main streets, the release said.

Delta no longer has a flight out of Huntington’s Tri-State Airport, but it does have flights to Atlanta and Detroit out of Charleston’s Yeager Airport.

Starting in February, Delta Sky magazine representatives will be reaching out to leaders throughout the state for input and support. The number of advertisers who participate in the section will determine the number of editorial pages for the West Virginia profile.
