AARP and Small Business Administration to host Mentor Day
CHARLESTON — AARP and the U.S. Small Business Administration are teaming up Tuesday, Oct. 2, to host National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day, a series of events targeted at entrepreneurs age 50 and older.
The goal is to match these “encore entrepreneurs” with experienced business owners and community leaders for advice and assistance, and to link them to the resources they need to successfully start and grow businesses and create jobs.
An event is planned from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Charleston Area Alliance, 1116 Smith St., that will match encore entrepreneurs with mentors who have small business experience. For more information about encore entrepreneurship, visit www.aarp.org/startabusiness.
