Business of the Week: Historic Huntington House

January 19, 2010 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- The Historic Huntington House is the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Week for the week of Jan. 18, 2010.

The new, Victorian-era special event venue at 1349 6th Ave. in Huntington is owned by John and Kathi McKay Stafford. The house was built by Delos W. Emmons in 1888 for Collis P. Huntington and the Central Land Company as a model home to bring people to Huntington. The venue is available for small weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, anniversaries, birthday and theme parties and more.

The house features a music room equipped with a built-in sound system, and it has a DJ service, a children's dress up/playroom, and a Bride's Room for members of the bridal party to dress for the wedding. Huntington House also offers "green" wedding packages and parties with a selection of over 30 bridal gowns and bridal party decorations that are gently used for affordable and environmental friendly events.

Beginning Feb. 7, The Historic Huntington House will host monthly open house/mini bridal fairs with select vendors for one-stop shopping on the first Sunday of each month from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 304-919-1095 or visit www.huntingtonhouse.info.

Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mark Bugher presents the Business of the Week certificate to Kathi McKay Stafford, owner of The Historic Huntington House, in one of the event venue’s rooms staged for a wedding.
