The U.S. Postal Service National Association of Letter Carriers nationwide will join forces to help stamp out hunger by collecting non-perishable food items and delivering them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters across the country.
The letter carriers will be collecting the goods May 10.
Since 1993, the Postal Service and the NALC have partnered on this campaign to stamp out hunger. It has grown to become the world's largest single-day food drive, collecting more than three-quarters of a billion pounds of food since its inception
Women 2 Women to host business etiquette event
HUNTINGTON -- Women 2 Women, a subcommittee of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, is hosting an event called "Mind Your P's and Q's: Tips on Business Etiquette" from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the Marshall University Memorial Student Center.
Dale Clowser will facilitate the presentation.
Cost is $15 for committee members and $25 for nonmembers. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted.
Women 2 Women is a group formed in 2006 to identify women leaders in the community, provide networking opportunities for working women and promote a realistic work-life balance. Annual cost for memberships is $35 per year if your employer is a member of the Chamber, and $60 if you employer is not a member.
The group usually hosts events every other month.
