Entrepreneurs to present new ideas

May. 07, 2013 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Unlimited Future Inc. has announced that this month's Entrepreneurs' Cafe will be at noon Wednesday, May 15, on the second floor at the Small Business Development Center, at 1050 4th Ave.

Cost of attendance is $15. Of that, $10 goes to the winning presenter and $5 goes to the caterer. Lunch will be provided by Let's Eat, a new restaurant at Heritage Station.

The goal of the Entrepreneurs' Cafe is to develop an entrepreneurial network in the Tri-State area. During lunch, three entrepreneurs make a presentation about an idea they have to an audience, and audience members vote on their favorite idea. The winner gets a microgrant and in-kind support from area businesses.

This month, the audience will hear from Trina Marcum of Trina's Treasures, which creates custom lanyards and key fobs. Marcum hopes to raise funds for an embroidery machine. Joanne Thompson is a contracted designer who assists established businesses that use graphic design in their day-to-day business, and creates branding for startup and small businesses with logos, business cards, letterhead and brochures. She will use the funds for advertising through a website and an open-for-business gathering to attract potential clients.

There is still an opening for a third presenter. Anyone with an idea for a startup business, or a local business owner looking to expand or enhance a business, can call 304-697-3007.

To register, visit unlimitedfuture.org, and find the Entrepreneurs Cafe tab. With questions, call 304-697-3007 or email ursulette@unlimitedfuture.org.
