STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: Mountain State University now offers its M.S. in Strategic Leadership cohort program, taught in a team-learning environment, in the Huntington area. Working adults who already possess a bachelor's degree can complete their master's in 17 months.

In the program, groups of students form cohorts and study with other working professionals from various industries on the same educational level, building a network of peers and consultants as they complete their master's degree. This new cohort will meet from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays at the West Virginia Army National Guard armory, 800 Virginia St. in Huntington. Convocation is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, with the official first day of class on Monday, Nov. 17.

Mountain State University is a regionally accredited university, ranked as one of the Best Southern Colleges by Princeton Review.

MASSAGE THERAPY CLASSES: A fall 2008 schedule for massage therapy classes for licensed massage therapists or current students of the field has been announced by Angela Barker, an orthopedic massage therapist, author, lecturer and approved continued education provider. Various education credits are available for the classes, which take place throughout the region and require various fees.
