Nelson Mullins to open Huntington office
HUNTINGTON -- Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP will open an office in Huntington on Dec. 1, the East Coast firm announced Thursday.
The office will be at 949 3rd Ave., Suite 200, and will have six to 10 employees to start out.
This is the firm's 12th location and its first West Virginia location.
Joining the firm will be three attorneys known in West Virginia, including Marc E. Williams, who just completed a term as president of the 23,000-member DRI, the international organization of corporations and attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation.
Joining him are partners Robert Massie and Melissa Foster Bird. The new attorneys all have extensive litigation practices.
"This new office is geographically a good fit for us because of our current work for clients in West Virginia," Nelson Mullins Managing Partner David Dukes said in a press release. "This new litigation team also is a perfect complement to our national litigation practice, and we are excited that they will be helping us open our 12th office."
Litigation is Nelson Mullins' largest practice area, representing 55 percent of the firm's total practice.
The firm, which has offices from Boston to Florida, has more than 400 attorneys and legislative professionals practicing in more than 50 areas of law.
"We are the eighth largest firm in terms of our representation in product liability in the U.S.," said James Gray, administrative partner for the law firm.
In addition to Atlanta, Boston, Tallahassee and Washington, Nelson Mullins has seven offices in the Carolinas. It was established in 1897. For more information on the firm, go to www.nelsonmullins.com or call 803-255-9794.
