OLBH promotes Moore to senior vice president

RUSSELL, Ky. -- Jennifer Moore, BSN, MHA, has been promoted to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital senior vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer.

Moore joined the hospital in 1987 as director of home health. She has successfully served many roles at OLBH including surgical nurse, administrative director of surgery and director of nursing. Since 2001, Moore has led patient care areas in the role of vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer.

In her expanded role, Moore will lead the hospital's service lines and will add to her other responsibilities oversight of cardiovascular services and clinical dietetics.

Moore earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in health care administration from Marshall University.

Reverend joins hospital pastoral education staff

HUNTINGTON -- The Rev. Vernon McNear, BCC, joins the Department of Pastoral Care at Cabell Huntington Hospital as associate director of Clinical Pastoral Education.

McNear earned his master's of Divinity at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich., and most recently worked in the Spiritual Care Department of St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Idaho.

"We are fortunate to get someone of Vern's caliber to be the educator of our clinical pastoral education students," said the Rev. Dr. David C. Johnson, director of the Pastoral Care and Education Department at Cabell Huntington, in a press release.

McNear is ordained by the Reformed Church in America and is certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains. His role at Cabell Huntington includes supervising the pastoral residents, interns and emergency services chaplains.

InfoCision hires new HR coordinator

HUNTINGTON -- InfoCision Management Corporation announces the hiring of Deborah Fried of Huntington as human resources coordinator at the company's Huntington location.

As a human resources coordinator, Fried will be responsible for interviewing and staffing the company's political call center in Clarksburg. She will also work closely with the management team to maintain high levels of retention and work to address and resolve employee concerns.

Valley Health hires two new physicians

WAYNE -- Valley Health announces the addition of two physicians.

Dr. Margaret Baxter, family medicine physician, began seeing patients at Valley Health -- Wayne on July 17.

Baxter cares for infants through elderly patients as well as those hospitalized at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Baxter graduated cum laude from University of Georgia and earned her M.D. from Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency at Marshall University.

Baxter is available 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and she sees patients until noon on Friday. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call the Valley Health -- Wayne office at 304-272-5136.

Dr. Jane Nicholas, pediatrician, has been seeing patients since July 7, at the Valley Health -- Hurricane office. As a pediatrician, Dr. Nicholas specializes in treating patients under the age of 21.

Nicholas is a board-certified pediatrician and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Nicholas earned her M.D. in 1998 from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, and she completed her residency at Charleston Area Medical Center in 2002. She has taught at West Virginia University's clinical campus in Charleston, and she has been an attending pediatrician in the Children's Medicine Center at Charleston Area Medical Center since 2003.

Nicholas and her husband, Dr. David Nicholas, have two daughters, Laura and Emily Kate. Her hobbies include art projects with her daughters and creative dramatics.

King's Daughters adds physician, administrator

ASHLAND -- King's Daughters Medical Center recently added a new physician and administrator.

Cardiologist Earl Perrigo, M.D., joins the medical staff at King's Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) and will be working primarily in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Perrigo is affiliated with Kentucky Heart and Vascular Physicians, Inc. (formerly Cumberland Cardiology). He comes to KDMC after practicing medicine in Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan.

A 1969 medical school graduate of the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vt., he continued his education by completing an internship in 1970 at Buffalo General/E.J. Meer Memorial Hospitals, Buffalo, N.Y.; a residency in 1975 at Yale New Haven Medical Center, New Haven, Conn.; and fellowships at Yale New Haven Medical Center, (1974), adult cardiology; Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, Burlington, Vt. (1976), adult/pediatric cardiology.

Perrigo is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty certification in Cardiovascular Diseases. His office is at King's Daughters Medical Specialties -- Portsmouth, 2001 Scioto Trail, Suite 205. Staff members can be contacted at 740-353-8100.

The hospital has also added Brian Norris as director of Anesthesia Services.

Norris is responsible for administrative functions related to anesthesia, including billing, recruitment, policies, procedures and development/monitoring of performance indicators. He is the primary liaison between the anesthesia providers and the medical center.

Previously, Norris served for eight months as the administrator/COO of the private anesthesia group at KDMC. He came to the Ashland area from Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala., where he was the anesthesia department director. Norris has 13 years of experience in clinics, practice management and hospitals. He attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich.; earned a bachelor of science degree at the University of Mobile; and a master's degree in bioethics from Spring Hill College, also in Mobile. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and served on the board for a state chapter of the Medical Group Management Association.
