Barboursville man elected staff officer of SEIU 1199
Al Bacon of Barboursville has been re-elected as a staff officer, executive vice president, of Members of the Service Employees International Union District 1199.
District 1199 represents professional and paraprofessional workers in hospitals, nursing homes, mental health agencies, MR/DD facilities, Head Start agencies, institutions of higher learning, as well as persons employed by state and local government. The union administers more than 200 collective bargaining agreements with employers across West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio, according to a release from the union. It has 35,000 members.
Kathy McCormick of Olive Hill, Ky., also was elected as an executive vice president, and Larry Daniels of Paintsville, Ky., was elected Kentucky's vice president for the union.
