BUSINESS OF THE WEEK: Clay Song Pottery
HUNTINGTON -- Clay Song Pottery is the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce Business of the Week for May 24, 2010.
Owner and artist Karal Seibel is a full-time potter with a studio and workshop in Huntington. She is a graduate of Marshall University with a R.B.A. in Ceramic Arts, and her work has been exhibited in the Robert C. Byrd Courthouse in Charleston, and as part of Marshall University's 2006 Presidential Inauguration.
Seibel was juried into the 2008 Arts Alive festival in Florence, Ala., and her work has been carried by the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts and Lori Davis Gallery in Florence and the Tennessee Valley Arts Association in Tuscumbia, Ala.
All pieces at Clay Song Pottery are handmade and completely original. Individuals can also commission pieces to be made, including teapots, trays, decorative bottles, hearty bowls and more. A jewelry line is also offered featuring a wide variety of colors.
Seibel is a recipient of a professional development grant from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, Commission on the Arts, and she is a member of the American Craft Council, Potter's Council and the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts.
Clay Song Pottery is available at Seibel's studio and workshop, as well as the Huntington Museum of Art, MUG & PIA and The Red Caboose.
