WINFIELD, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Small Business Development Center is offering two small business marketing workshops on Friday, May 23, at the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce at 5664 State Route 34.
The first class, called Marketing on a Budget, will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Kathleen Thornton, business specialist, will conduct the workshop on topics such as how to save money with mainstream advertisers, as well as using low-cost tactics to market any small business. The fee for the morning course is $39.
The second class, called Be Your Own Boss, will be offered from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Thornton instructing on topics including the rules and regulations of going into business, a comparison of the different legal structures available, and licensing and permitting.
The fee for the afternoon course is $29.
