Barboursville business celebrates

Oct. 27, 2012 @ 12:25 AM

BARBOURSVILLE -- Laura's Laundromat in Barboursville will celebrate three years in business with a customer appreciation day on Sunday, Nov. 4.

The event will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and feature giveaways of comforters, blankets and cash, along with drinks and refreshments, said owner Laura Ross. The 24-hour laundromat, located at 6007 U.S. 60 East in the River Place Plaza, features free Internet service, a play area for children and cable television.

Ross opened the business after moving to West Virginia from California and deciding the Tri-State was ready for a colorful place where customers could do their laundry and feel at home. The layout features several television sets, video games and other activities for children.

Recently her mother and father joined her in West Virginia, and her mother now offers alterations at the laundromat.
