Survey gives OLBH high marks
RUSSELL, Ky. -- Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital has been ranked No. 1 in Kentucky for general surgery for the second straight year and No. 1 in Kentucky and best in the region for gastroenterology services, according to Healthgrades, a national independent hospital quality ratings organization.
Other 2013 Healthgrades ratings for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital include: ranked among the top five in Kentucky for GI services for five consecutive years, ranked among the top five in Kentucky for general surgery for two years in a row, five-star recipient for GI procedures and surgeries for five consecutive years and five-star recipient for cholecystectomy in 2013.
According to Healthgrades, patients being treated at a five-star hospital have, on average, a 61 percent lower risk of experiencing an in-hospital complication than if they were treated at a one-star hospital.
