Beard Mortuary to host seminar titled 'Is Your Estate in Order'
ESTATE PLANNING: Beard Mortuary and Huddleston Bolen LLP will host a seminar titled "Is Your Estate in Order" from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Beard Mortuary, 3001 3rd Ave., Huntington. The seminar is free and open to the public. A free continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Doors open at 9 a.m. Registration is required and may be made by calling 304-691-8474.
In the seminar, Audy Perry, manager of Huddleston Bolen's Legacy Planning Group, Anna Price, and Kathryn Davis will provide a checklist that guests can use to determine if their estate is in order. They will also review several practical issues, including living wills, durable power of attorney for health care, durable financial power of attorney, living trust, naming a personal and financial guardian for dependents, naming an executor and preparing documents for her/him, preparing a letter of last instruction, how to calculate net worth, determining who will receive assets after death and how to transfer assets, and legacy planning.
CLIPPER CUTS: The final Men's Clipper Cuts class for 2012 will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Midway Barber Shop, 104 4th Ave., in Huntington. This course is open to all licensed barbers and cosmetologists who need the four hours of continuing education required by the state of West Virginia Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists for relicensure in 2013. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: Michael Adkins is teaching a digital photography class at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Nov. 6 and running for five weeks. Participants can learn the basics of how to use a camera and composition techniques.
