New sign going up downtown
HUNTINGTON -- The 400 block of 10th Street in downtown Huntington will be closed during business hours Tuesday and Wednesday, as Identity America puts up signs for First State Bank atop the St. James Building. The project started Monday.
The three signs are 19 feet wide and 10 feet tall and are being raised 180 feet with the help of the company's 250-foot crane.
"It's been a long time coming. We designed them and have been working with the bank several months," said Rhonda Neal, vice president for Identity America, which is based in Bluefield, Va.
They finally have the right conditions and weather for the project, said Neal and superintendent John Mathena.
The road is expected to be closed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
