Glassman joins KDMC medical staff
ASHLAND, Ky. -- Electrophysiologist David Glassman, M.D., has joined the cardiology program at King's Daughters Medical Center.
A cardiac electrophysiologist specializes in arrhythmias and other heart disorders and can perform special procedures including placement of pacemakers or defibrillators and ablations of abnormal electrical pathways in the heart that can lead to atrial fibrillation.
Glassman is a 2002 medical school graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Ind. He continued his medical education by completing both an internship (2003) and a residency (2005) at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; and a fellowship (2009) in cardiology/cardiac electrophysiology at Brown University, Providence, R.I.

Scott named Marshall's Employee of the Month
Kay Scott has been named the Marshall University Employee of the Month for August.
Scott is a program assistant with the West Virginia Autism Training Center at Marshall University. A Marshall University employee for seven years, Scott was nominated by Gina Broce and Barbara Becker-Cottrill.
"With her friendly demeanor and willingness to assist everyone, callers often comment about how friendly and helpful she is to them," they said in their nomination. "Kay has an extremely responsible attitude toward her job and has an excellent attendance record.
"We all appreciate Kay and all she does for the Autism Training Center and we feel very fortunate to have the privilege of working with her. We do not want her to go unnoticed."

Browning named Turnpike Ford's Employee of the Month
Turnpike Ford of Huntington presented its "Salesperson of the Month Award" to Mike Browning for outstanding sales and customer satisfaction achievements in the month of August.
Browning led the sales team at Turnpike Ford in August and scored above average on customer satisfaction ratings from Ford Motor Company. He has been a member of Turnpike Ford's sales team for 18 months.
Browning lives in Proctorville, Ohio, with his wife, Heather, and son, Noah.
Minnich named RCBI's Employee of the Month
HUNTINGTON -- Charleston resident Tom Minnich has been selected as August Employee of the Month at the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing.
Minnich, who joined the RCBI staff in January 1999, currently serves as director of business and project development. He also is executive director of the RCBI Composites Technology & Training Center at Bridgeport, W.Va.
He spent more than 14 years with the U.S. Department of Defense. A native of Gassaway, W.Va., Minnich earned an undergraduate degree from Marshall University, where he also attended graduate school. He later attended Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston) and George Mason University, as well as the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.
He was appointed as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Mid-Atlantic Technology Center representative for West Virginia in 2000. He also serves on the boards of the Mine Safety Technology Consortium and the West Virginia Governor's Energy Task Force.
Minnich is the father of two grown children, Kathryn Busdeker of Philippi, W.Va., and Thomas Minnich of Jane Lew, W.Va. He and his wife, Deborah, have been married since 1999.
McGinnis-Ruark, Arnett join Bellefonte staff
Officials with Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital have announced Mary Kay McGinnis-Ruark has assumed the role of physician liaison at the hospital. Ryan Arnett has assumed the role of lead exercise physiologist at the hospital.
McGinnis-Ruark will provide a personal communication link between OLBH and physicians on the hospital's medical staff. A physician liaison maintains relationships with physicians and other health care providers to keep them up-to-date on the hospital's services.
A Greenup native, McGinnis-Ruark earned her degree in 1995 from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky. She is a member of the Ashland Alliance Young Professionals and is the organizer of the organization's backpack program. She assumes a leadership role annually for the Greenup County Fair. Prior to coming to Bellefonte, McGinnis-Ruark's prior work experience included employment at the Ashland Alliance and Veolia Environmental Services. McGinnis-Ruark resides in Greenup with her husband, David, and their two children.
In his new position, Arnett will provide leadership and oversight in the establishment of a new fitness facility and program at the Bellefonte Pavilion. In 2000, Arnett earned his degree in exercise physiology from Morehead State University. He minored in health promotions. He is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine.
A Southern Ohio native, Arnett brings more than 10 years experience in the health and fitness field to his new position, including roles in both management and training. He most recently served as a training director for Urban Active in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is relocating to the Ashland area with his wife and daughter.

SullivanWebb has staff changes, additions
John Richard Montgomery, CPA, of Huntington has been named Manager of Attest and Assurance Services for SullivanWebb, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants. Montgomery concentrates his practice in audit, tax and business advisory services.
A native of Parkersburg, Montgomery is a graduate of Marshall University and has more than 20 years of experience in upper management positions in business and retail. He has been with SullivanWebb for six years, most recently serving as the audit supervisor.
Montgomery is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and serves as the Vice President of the Huntington Chapter of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Ashley N. Gibson of Huntington has joined SullivanWebb. She will concentrate her practice in auditing and tax services. A native of Flatwoods, W.Va., Gibson graduated from Marshall University with a BBA in accounting. Prior to joining the firm, she served as the junior controller with Allevard Sogefi USA, Inc.
Lori J. Harmon, of Willow Wood, Ohio, has also joined the firm. Harmon will concentrate her practice in auditing and tax services. She is a graduate of Shawnee State University with a bachelor's in business administration and an associates degree in information technology. Harmon also serves as a part time accounting instructor at Shawnee State University.
