CANDIDATE FOR: W.Va. House 16 (3 seats)
BIOGRAPHY: AGE: 61
EDUCATION: Graduated from Columbia College, Columbia, S.C. (History and Political Science) certified to teach secondary level.
CURRENT OFFICE OR OCCUPATION (INCLUDE SPECIFIC YEARS SERVED): Elected to the House of Delegates in 2006. I have served three terms. I currently serve on the Agriculture Co., Energy, Industry and Labor Co. (Minority Vice Chair), Health and Human Resources Co., Infrastructure Co. and Finance Co.
OTHER WORK HISTORY: Real Estate management, Bison Farmer.
CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS: Rotary Club of Milton, Farm Bureau, Junior League Garden Club, Madie Carroll House. You will find me at most Neighborhood Institute meetings, City Council meetings, and other Community activities. Previous involvement in many Boards; Marshall Artists Series, Musical Arts Guild, Yeager Scholars, Scott Community Center, Junior League, Cabell County Republican Women, Volunteered in Cabell Co. school system for 17 years, Boy Scout leader, United Way, Historical Society, Huntington Museum of Art Docent.
FAMILY: Married to Matt Miller 38 years, 2 sons, Chris (married to Cassie), and Sam. 2 grandsons, Fletcher and Carter.
QUESTION & ANSWER: In order to continue meeting West Virginia’s balanced budget requirement, what specific programs would you cut or eliminate?
“As a member of the House Finance Co., I can listen to the budget reports and identify the wasteful spending. Unclassified accounts must still be worked on. I am a sponsor of the Budget Spending and Transparency Act. We need to sunset outdated and unnecessary items.”
