NAME: Scott Caserta
CANDIDATE FOR: Huntington City Council District 7
BIOGRAPHY: AGE: 48 yrs old. Born and raised in Cabell County, West Virginia!
EDUCATION: Barboursville High School, Marshall University, Tri-State Fire Academy.
CURRENT OFFICE OR OCCUPATION (INCLUDE SPECIFIC YEARS SERVED): Elected to Huntington City Council 2004, Re-elected in 2008.
OTHER WORK HISTORY: Special Metals (INCO) since 1995, Certified HAZMAT/Confined Space Rescue/Industrial Fireman.
CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS: My wife and I have both been Foster & Adoptive Parents. We support and encourage families to open their hearts and homes to the love of these children. Currently serving on the Board of Directors for Children's Place, Huntington since 2005. Reserve Huntington Police Officer. Served multiple committees while on City Council.
FAMILY: Wonderful wife & best friend Cindi for 15 yrs. and we added a 6 yr old angel to our family last year, Hannah. She is now 8 and we couldn't imagine our lives without this precious child!
QUESTION & ANSWER: If the home rule pilot program is extended by the West Virginia Legislature, do you favor the occupation tax?
"The occupation tax, as submitted, is unfair to both workers and employers. I don't feel it will be necessary if we are prudent in our budgetary process."
