Dunn-Marshall, Capito to take part in business roundtable
HUNTINGTON -- Vicki Dunn-Marshall, Republican candidate for State Senate District 5, will join U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, for a business roundtable at noon Thursday, March 20, at Marshall University Foundation Hall.
Lunch is catered by Rocco's Ristorante of Ceredo, with the roundtable following at 1 p.m.

RAHALL HONORED: U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., was presented the National Emergency Management Association 2014 Congressional Award in honor of his legislative efforts in strengthening federal emergency management and disaster response. Rahall is the top ranking Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
"I am honored to receive this award from such a dedicated group of hardworking Americans, who are committed to protecting the safety and security of our communities," Rahall said in a news release.
The National Emergency Management Association is the professional association of emergency management directors from all 50 states.
WEST VIRGINIA AFL-CIO ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS: West Virginia AFL-CIO's Committee on Political Education (COPE) has announced candidate endorsements for the 2014 primary election.
The committee is made of representatives from affiliated international unions, trade and industrial councils, center labor council and West Virginia AFL-CIO Executive Board members.
Endorsements are as follows:
U.S. Senate: Natalie Tennant.
U.S. House of Representatives: 1st District - Glen Gainer; 2nd District - Nick Casey; 3rd District - Nick Rahall.
State Senate Districts: 5th - Mike Woelfel; 7th - Ron Stollings; 8th - Erik Wells.
House of Delegate Districts: 13th - Joshua Martin, Josh McGrath; 14th - Johnny Roach; 16th - Jim Morgan, Sean Hornbuckle; 17th - Doug Reynolds, Dale Stephens; 18th - Joe Hutchinson; 19th - Don Perdue, Ken Hicks; 22nd - Jeff Eldridge, Gary McCallister.
MOONEY ENDORSED: The Senate Conservatives Fund PAC and Tea Party Express have endorsed Alex Mooney, a Republican candidate for Congress in West Virginia's 2nd Congressional District.
In a press release the Senate Conservatives Fund PAC said Mooney "believe(s) deeply in our nation's founding principles and will be (a strong voice) for freedom in Washington."
The Senate Conservatives Fund is a nationwide conservative grassroots organization.
"Alex Mooney is exactly the kind of constitutional conservative that will bring the voice of West Virginia's 2nd Congressional District to Washington, D.C.," Taylor Budowich, executive cirector of the Tea Party Express, said in a press release.
