Pullman welcomes addition of Roosters

HUNTINGTON -- Based out of Dublin, Ohio, Roosters is a growing chain of sports bars with locations throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The Pullman Square location, which opened in August, is the first franchise in the state of West Virginia. The chain was established by Bob and Corrine Frick in 1988.

"I was approached about a year and a half ago about putting a wing place in Huntington," Kenny Harper, general manager of Roosters, said. "When this location at Pullman Square became available we took advantage of it."

Harper is also the standing general manager of Uno's Chicago Grill at Pullman Square.

"When we chose Roosters after we looked at the menu, the price point, and the way food is prepared," Harper said. "Everything is made fresh daily. None of the wings are frozen. We also loved the price point on the menu. You can afford to feed the whole family."

Roosters serves a wide variety of "Pub Grub" starting with its famous wings, starting at $3.99 for an order of 5 to 50 Wings for $32.99. Sauces include teriyaki, barbecue, garlic and the dreaded "Super Killer" hot sauce. Hamburgers are available such as Bob's Half-Pound BBQ Burger for $5.99. The menu features sandwiches such as the oven baked Italian Sub with ham, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella/provolone, onions, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers and Italian dressing for $6.19. There is also an assortment of 9-inch thin crust pizzas, starting at $4.99 for a cheese pizza.

"After demolition and all it took us about eight months before we opened," Harper said. "Once construction started it only took about two months. We had to work slowly for the first few months. We had an old bar top that we had to take out, there was a bunch of extra stuff like a wine room that we took out to make it more open. We wanted a more free-flowing atmosphere throughout the restaurant where people can feel comfortable to move around. We added a bunch of light woods along the walls to give it a new look and added a ton of television sets."

Customers can also order catering platters. While orders of 50 wings can be served on the same day, orders of 100 or more should be called ahead. Customers can also order sides such as Greek salad, fried mushrooms or potato skins for 15 to 18 people.

Roosters is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. On Friday and Saturday it opens at 11 a.m. and is open until midnight or later.
