New barbecue place opens in West Huntington

Located across the street from the Midway Drive-In in West Huntington, Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em is a quaint little barbecue shack which first opened it's doors in early may. Wayne native Shawn Kennedy had been cooking barbecue and catering for several years before deciding to open his own restaurant.

Ashland's Texas Roadhouse celebrates 20 years

The family steakhouse will be having an outdoor party at 8 p.m. today, July 9, featuring country Singer Bryan Scott and guest Adam Crank. Established in Clarksville, Indiana in 1993 the Louisville based chain has more than 450 locations, including international ones as far away as Dubai and Taipei.

Frostop mending mug, serving up classic favorites

HUNTINGTON - The cold weather that plagued the Tri-State area in late February and early March may have been a headache for some local businesses, but one Huntington landmark took a cosmetic blow as well. Since 1959 the iconic giant root beer mug atop Frostop Drive-In has greeted motorists entering Huntington along Hal Greer, but on Feb. 19, temperatures dropped so low that paint actually fell from the mug and shattered. Restoration will start on the mug this week to get it looking like its old frosty self once again.
