Kentucky Afield explores a high-tech search for trophy bucks
FRANKFORT, Ky. — A hunter’s search for trophy bucks has just become easier with a new twist on spyware. “Kentucky Afield” television takes a closer look this weekend, August 16 and 17.
Morgan County’s Steve Bailey has developed a web-based wildlife surveillance system that landowners can utilize to peek at what’s prowling on their private property. Part of the system is already in your pocket – a cell phone. As white-tailed deer season approaches, so does demand for the technology. Host Tim Farmer gets a demonstration as hunting goes high-tech.
Elsewhere, “Kentucky Afield” goes adrift for catfish on the Ohio River near Henderson. Paul Willett is our guide to good catches.
“Kentucky Afield” is an Emmy award-winning production of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. It is the longest continuously-running outdoor television show in the nation. The program airs Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern /7:30 p.m. Central and is repeated Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern/3 p.m. Central on KET 1.
