Southern West Virginia's Ruffed Grouse Society holds banquet
The Southern West Virginia Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society will hold its Inaugural Sportsmen’s Banquet on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Logan Country Club, 715 Lincoln Highway, Chapmanville, W. Va, beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m.
As is the custom at all RGS events, the evening will feature a live and silent auction, games, drawings and door prizes; highlighted with the finest selection of quality firearms, artwork and collectable’s.
According to Eric Salyer, membership and dinner tickets are $50; couples dinner ticket $80, and $30 for youngsters under age 16 -- the latter including a one year RGS membership. Banquet, Conservation and Sustaining sponsorship packages are also available at $250, $500 and $1,000 respectively.
And, continuing in the spirit of the outdoors, youngsters under the age of 16 who recently took and passed a hunter education course and/or women who have participated in a recent Outdoors Women program, and can verify same, will receive a complimentary dinner ticket when accompanied by a paying adult
Banquet tickets can also be purchased on line through the RGS website up until two weeks of the event. Just go to www.ruffedgrousesociety.org, click on Select State in the Migration Mapping & State Information box in the right panel of the home page. Choose a state; than under Upcoming State Events, click on the event of interest and you will be linked to a display of all important event details, including the ticket chairman’s contact information.
The chapter is also seeking volunteers to help with this fundraiser banquet and other initiatives, as proceeds from this event will be used to restore and protect grouse and woodcock habitat.
