Beech Fork State Park announces activity schedule for the week
Beech Fork State Park offers 3,144 acres of some of the best recreation experience in the western section of West Virginia.
Located just 12 miles south of Huntington and Barboursville, Beech Fork State Park is the state's largest campground with 275 sites and tons of activities from a swimming pool and boat rentals to fishing, hiking and mountain biking.
Here's a look at this week's activities out at the Park:
Wednesday
6 p.m. — “Corn Hole” weather pending location but meet outside campers corner. If you’re not into corn hole there will be some Frisbees flying. Come and hang out.
Thursday
7 p.m. — “Full Stomach Stroll” We are hiking the Long Branch Trail after dinner. Don’t forget, your park naturalist gets hungry, too. Dinner invitations always welcome.
Friday (in association with the Good Samaritan Church)
10 a.m. — “Tree Count: Our Conifers” Walking the Road to Nowhere taking note of our coniferous friends and their health.
2 p.m. — “Beautiful Beech Bike Club” Enjoy biking throughout the campground and trailheads to pick up any trash that must have missed the cans. It’s our privilege to “Leave No Trace” for our future park guests. Meet at camper corner.
8 p.m. — “Hay Ride” You know what a hay ride is. Don’t miss out. Meet at the Old Orchard Bath House.
Saturday (in association with the Good Samaritan Church)
8:30a.m. — “Registration” for kids (15 and under) fishing tournament on the Moxley Bridge.
9 a.m. — “Kids Fishing Tournament” lasting about an hour with Trophies and awards directly following.
11 a.m. — “Water and Bubble Mania” Do you really want to miss out on this? Meet at Moxley Branch site # 27.
5 p.m. — “Scavenger Hunt and Team Kickball” take you pick, meeting at Mox # 27.
8 p.m. — “Hay Ride” If you missed out Friday evening, redeem yourself. Meet at Old Orchard Bath House.
Sunday
9 a.m. — “The Good Samaritan Church” everyone is invited out at Moxley Branch site # 27 for a church service.
