Greenbo Lake to host Art in the Park Festival on Saturday

GREENUP, Ky. – The Annual Art in the Park Festival will be held on Saturday, May 10 at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park.  Students from all four-area elementary schools will be participating in this event through art, drama, and music. Student-created artwork will be displayed in the Greenbo Lodge May 9-12. 

There will be a picnic at the Greenbo Picnic Shelters at 3 p.m. Saturday May 10.  The menu will include Hot Dogs, Sauce, Chips, Orange Drink and cookies.  The meal is free.

The performances will begin at the Amphitheater at 5 p.m.  The performances will include students and drama groups from all four elementary schools.  The musical program will begin with kindergarten and first grade students.  The program should last about two hours.  Every mother will receive a free flower to celebrate Mother’s Day. 

Door prizes will be given out during the performance after each performing group including several large door prizes, which will be given at the end of the festival.  Your entry ticket will have a number, which will be used for the drawing. You must be present to win.

Students are admitted free. Pre-sale Tickets costing $3 can be bought at the four elementary schools and at the picnic shelter. Regular Tickets costing $5 can be bought at the gate of the Amphitheater.

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is located at 965 Lodge Road in Greenup. In addition to the amphitheater and Jesse Stuart Lodge, the park features the Anglers’ Cove Restaurant, camping, fishing, boating, swimming and mini-golf.
