CHARLESTON — An incredible natural spectacle is currently taking place all over the state as nearly 100 different species of birds journey from great distances to raise their young. Join bird enthusiast Doren Burrell for a special program about migratory birds. This free Lunchtime Lecture will take place in the Clay Center's art gallery on Wednesday, May 14 at 12:15 p.m.
For 20 years, Doren Burrell has watched and studied birds. He has served as an outdoor guide and a volunteer in the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Master Naturalist Program. Burrell is also active in the Brooks Bird Club and is a nominee for vice president of the Kanawha Valley chapter for the coming year.
The Lunchtime Lecture series takes place the second Wednesday of each month and is free and open to the public. Each 45-50 minute program features a community presenter with an exciting new topic.
Also the second Wednesday of each month, ages 55 and up can take advantage of the Clay Center's new Senior Days offer.
