About 200 people registered for Winter Adventure Weekend

OLIVE HILL, Ky. — About 200 people from half a dozen states are already registered for the third annual Winter Adventure Weekend at Carter Caves State Resort Park.

The event, which was the winner of The Outstanding Special Event Of The Year for 2011, has nearly 100 different trips that include hiking, canoeing, recreational tree climbing, cave tours, winter survival, rappelling and other adventures including the crazy cool more than 1,000 foot-long cardboard cave in the lodge basement.

Set for Jan. 27-29, WAW has some cool new trips including a high-line ride, mountain biking, geocaching, campfire cooking,woman-only backpacking trip and six new adventure presentations.

The list of the trips, along with registration information and other details for the 2012 event are available at www.winteradventureweekend.com.  All participants must register online. The nonrefundable fee for adults (age 13 and older) is $25, and the nonrefundable fee for ages 6-12 is $20.
