Here's a look at some special events this season at Class VI River Runners.
June 20: West Virginia Day: Celebrate West Virginia Day with Class VI by floating down the beautiful New River Gorge and listening to your guides tell stories about the geology and coal mining days, all at an affordable price. Cost is $85 per person.
June 21-22: Reunion Weekend: Class VI began in 1978 with a small trailer and a fleet of six rafts. Today, Class VI has a beautiful, state-of-the-art basecamp facility overlooking the New River Gorge and a fleet of 98 rafts. Join in for the 31st year anniversary celebration weekend with live music, rafting and meals. Starting at $109 if rafting Sunday.
Full Moon Trip: Full moon dates are Wednesday, June 18; Friday July 18; Friday Aug. 15; and Monday, Sept. 15, for an afternoon rafting trip in the New River Gorge including two meals. Starts at $107.
Fourth of July: Rafting followed by a fantastic meal and entertainment. Still ready to party? Head on over to nearby Fayetteville later in the evening for the best small town Heritage Festival and Fireworks display around. Rafting with Dinner $101.50 plus taxes.
Raft for the Cure: Saturday, Aug. 16, Class VI will offer classic whitewater rafting one-day trips and will donate half the rafting trip's fee on this day to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Guests, who choose not to raft, may make a contribution toward the cause by dining at Smokey's On the Gorge. Starts at $110 per person.
